Great bike but the directions in the box suck. I watch the video it the within the add and followed step by step and it was very easy to put together.

I bought this bicycle over a year ago and after assembling never rode it because I could see it needed some work to be safe. Finally a year later I decided to stop looking at it and fix it. The back wheel was not straight causing the brakes to rub. The derailleur was shifting incorrectly and skipping gears. The wheels were not true and need the spokes adjusted. Once I started in I found the derailleur stop nut and screw were in backwards making the wheel sit cocked. I also took off the kickstand because it made straightening the rear wheel a battle. Once the rear wheel was straight and the derailleur was dialed in I was able to put the kickstand back on but came real close to throwing it way as it is pretty worthless. A small gust of wind will blow it over when on the kickstand. The rear wheel bearing was lose causing a pretty noticeable wobble in the back wheel that had to be addressed. The whole process to took multiple hours (and some cussing) and a lot of frustration but it is now working correctly and I feel safe riding it.
The folding part of the bicycle folding is awesome and will make taking it on RV trips to ride around campgrounds so much easier. If you buy this bike thinking you will put it together and ride it, you will not.

fits in car for when I take it to the mechanic. Haven’t quite got the knack for folding it but it does work. It rides ok, although I find it harder to pedal than a normal bike. It’s just a little small for me (5’10”) but workable. Also the handlebars and seat can slip and get out of whack even though you thought you tightened them. Quality seems pretty good overall.

Hard to assembly. Not well made. When putting it together the front wheel spoke broke. Tried to contact the company to have them send me another one. They told me to send a picture. i am 72 years old and told know how to take a picture on my phone and add it to the computer. Told them to send me their email because I do know how to take a picture on my phone and then attach that picture to the email . they never send it so we purchased on which cost us $68.00. I don’t like dealing with third party vendors because you can’t get them to do what you tell them what they need to do. How hard was it for them to send me an email which I provided to them as well as my phone number. Amazon did not help me with the problem.

This is a fantastic deal. Agreed with a poster above, adjusting the “V” rim brakes are the most fiddly part of the whole deal(I might upgrade the brake pads, but it’s not really necessary). It’s not that hard to adjust them if you have a decent amount of mechanical ability(You Tube is your friend here). Also, when searching YouTube and the “web in general” regarding folding bikes, search “small wheel touring” to get an idea of their capabilities. A couple of other things regarding this bike. It does not fold as small as many other “high $” folders but that this price it is still a fantastic deal. Also, this is a bit heavier than some other folders, but again for $200 it’s a steal. The derailleur and braking system are just fine. The braking system is a “bit on the cheap side”, but still works so no real safety issues. The wheels come off using 15mm wrench so if you are used to “quick release” don’t forget a tool (I use a small adjustable wrench from Home Depot $3). The pedals do not “fold up”, but that’s ok. I switched out the pedals and am using my Rock Brothers MTB pedals. The bike folds up just fine, but again maybe not quite as compact as some others. The rack, seats, wheels, fenders all function as needed. You have to insert the handlebars into the headset tube, so you will need a very large crescent wrench or 1″ wrench for the “top nut”. You will also need a Phillps head screwdriver and a set of metric allen wrenches. 4,5,6,8 mm ($5 at Home Depot) should cover everything else on the bike. All in all this is a great value with decent quality components (derailleur is especially good at this price point). The inner tubes are 20 x 1.75 with a Schrader (car style) valve and a max 43 PSI. I weigh 170# and am just shy of 6′ and have everything pretty will extended all the way up.
Lastly I did not realize how much more energy it takes to ride a bike like this compared to my 700c tire Specialized Diverge. I am in pretty good shape and if I am carrying 30# of touring/camping gear, I think the max daily mileage would be about 30 miles. The other thing is I don’t think the bike is rated for much more than 200#, but you can look up the specs (most like the mfg has some safety liability margin built into whatever they publish)
In conclusion, if you want to “try a folding bike”, get this one and see how you like it. You can always upgrade to a more expensive bike and this one could easily be sold for $100. That way the most you lose is $100 (which is really as much as it costs to rent a bike for a weekend in many places). Shipping was super fast. Ordered it Tuesday and bike arrived Thursday. (of course this is going to vary a bit depending on your location)

I bought a pair of these…..1 black and 1 yellow for my wife and myself. I’m exceptionally happy with them. We owned a bike shop for 10 years and have attended several bike mechanic schools so I believe I’m qualified to express an opinion. The bikes are well built. The components are good quality. Folding and unfolding is SIMPLE. No tools required. There is virtually NO assembly out of the box BUT there are ADJUSTMENTS….mostly the brakes, The bikes are shipped with the brakes locked. Adjusting the brakes isn’t rocket surgery. Just do a YouTube search on adjusting Shimano V brakes and you’ll find everything you need to know. A bike brake cable tool is helpful but by no means necessary. The derailleurs did not need adjustment but the chains were on the wrong cogs. Just rock the bike over on the kickstand and turn the pedals and the chain should drop onto the correct set of cogs.
Most of the negative comments I’ve read about these bikes are from people who either didn’t understand how derailleurs work OR who didn’t expect to have to do “new bike” adjustments. Every bike you buy from an independent bike shop is assembled after it arrives at the shop and carefully adjusted before you are allowed to take it home. These bikes are no different.
Steering takes a minute or two to get used to because of the small wheels and a short wheel base. The 7 speeds are adequate for the type of riding the bikes are designed for. The paint job is good. The brakes WORK!!!
You just can’t ask for much more for the price.
