TikTok video downloader online: save TikTok videos as MP4 without an app
TikTok lets you favorite a video, but a favorite is only a shortcut. The clip itself stays on TikTok and vanishes if the creator deletes it or makes the account private. DownBurg is a free TikTok video downloader that works in your browser. You paste the link of a public video, it fetches the playback file TikTok already serves to every viewer, and you save it as an MP4 on your phone, tablet or computer.
There is nothing to install and nobody asks for your TikTok login. If you were looking for a way to download a TikTok video, save TikTok to your camera roll, or turn a TikTok link into an MP4, the steps below take about half a minute.
How to download a TikTok video from a link
Step 1: Copy the TikTok video link
- In the TikTok app: open the video, tap Share, then tap Copy link.
- In a browser: open the video on tiktok.com and copy the full address from the address bar.
- Short links that start with vm.tiktok.com or vt.tiktok.com work too. Paste them exactly as they are.
- Use the link of one specific video. A profile or hashtag page is not a video link.
Step 2: Paste it and press Download
Paste the link into the box at the top of this page and press Download. DownBurg checks the link and shows a preview of the video with the file that is available for it.
Step 3: Save the MP4
- Android: the file normally lands in your Downloads folder and often appears in the Gallery or Google Photos as well.
- iPhone and iPad: use Safari. When the download finishes, open it from the download icon in the address bar, then tap Share and Save Video to add it to Photos, or keep it in the Files app.
- Windows, Mac and Linux: the video goes to your browser’s Downloads folder. You do not need the TikTok desktop app or a PC emulator; the website in any modern browser is enough.
TikTok watermark: what to expect
When you use the Save video button inside TikTok, the saved copy carries the TikTok logo, the creator’s username and a short animated end card. That is why so many people look for a downloader without a watermark.
DownBurg asks for the standard playback version of the video instead of the in-app share copy. Where TikTok provides that file, it normally has no logo overlay. We cannot promise this for every single video, because it depends on what TikTok returns for that link. Two honest limits:
- It is not a watermark remover. DownBurg does not edit or clean a video you already saved. If your saved clip has a watermark, delete it and download again by pasting the original link here.
- Visible text or logos that the creator added inside the video, such as their own brand, are part of the picture and stay.
What you can and cannot download
| Content | Supported? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Public TikTok videos | Yes | Paste the video link, including vm.tiktok.com and vt.tiktok.com short links. |
| Private accounts and friends-only videos | No | DownBurg does not bypass privacy settings or logins. |
| Deleted or region-blocked videos | No | If the video will not play for you in TikTok, there is no file to fetch. |
| Photo posts and slideshows | No | The tool saves video files only. |
| Stories and live streams | No | They are temporary and have no stable public file. |
| Sounds and music as MP3 | No | See the audio section below. |
| Douyin (the China-only app) | No | This page supports TikTok links only. |
| Instagram and Facebook videos | Other pages | Use the Instagram downloader or the Facebook video downloader. |
Video quality: HD, 1080p and 4K
Most TikTok uploads are 720p or 1080p, and the platform re-compresses what creators upload, so true 4K is uncommon. DownBurg requests the HD version when TikTok offers one. It does not upscale: a low-resolution clip stays low-resolution, and any site that promises “4K” from a 720p original is only stretching the picture. If a downloaded video looks soft, it will usually look the same inside TikTok.
Audio, MP3 and TikTok sounds
DownBurg saves the video as an MP4 and does not offer a separate MP3 or “sound download” option. If you only need the audio, save the MP4 first and then extract the sound with a media app on your own device. Keep in mind that many TikTok sounds are licensed music, so only reuse audio you have the right to use.
TikTok download not working? Try this
- Check that the video is public. Open the link in a private or incognito window. If it will not play without logging in, it is restricted.
- Copy the link again. Use Share → Copy link in the app and paste the whole thing without extra words.
- Make sure it is a video. Photo slideshows and live streams cannot be saved.
- Turn off a VPN or strict ad blocker for a moment, or switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
- Try later. TikTok changes how it serves video from time to time, so a link that failed can work again after a short wait.
Online downloader, APK or desktop app?
Searches for TikTok downloader APKs and “pro” apps are everywhere, and so are fake versions of them. Files installed from outside the official app stores are a common way for malware and unwanted permissions to reach a phone. A browser-based downloader installs nothing, keeps no files on your device beyond the video you choose, and works the same on Android, iPhone, Windows and Mac. Add this page to your home screen if you want one-tap access.
